ABOUT US
Founded in 1995, the Sojourners’ Companions is a group of dedicated prayer guides with a strong desire to journey with others in prayer using Scriptures. We come from different parishes in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Singapore, serving on a voluntary basis in this ministry.
The first group of Sojourners’ companions was trained by Fr. Gerard Hughes, S.J. and his team in 1995. Subsequent groups were trained by others who have studied the dynamics of the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Our first Spiritual Director was Fr. Bill Heng, CSsR.
Our logo shows two people in communication – a prayer guide and the other, a pilgrim. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit are central to the prayer companionship.
OUR MISSION
We strive to be witnesses of Christ by being people of prayer and journeying with others through Scriptures so as to deepen their experience of God in their daily lives.
OUR PRAYER GUIDES
Our prayer guides attend a number of activities each year such as Days of Recollection, talks and workshops, regular cell group meetings and an annual retreat for spiritual formation and growth. These events also let us re-connect with God and with one another.
